Project Background

In this opening project, we will start with the process of creating a journal in an incredibly flexible application called Airtable. Airtable is like a spreadsheet application with the power of databases. The neat thing about Airtable is that it became a bedrock service that allows users to create any kind of professional service and application as a “backend” and later introducing “frontend” capabilities to build a functional app in one platform. If you are an Excel wizard, your formulas work in nearly the same way, however you can add attachments and have more features to create workflows suitable for all types of work.

  2. After reviewing your workspace and any necessary guides, select Copy Base from the top menu after opening the Airtable base you wish to copy to your workspace.

  3. After the template base is created in your workspace, you can now Add Content to your Airtable base.

  1. Click on the “+” button to add a record in the table view under the last entry or in the bottom left corner.
  2. Enter in the book details relavant to the entry
    1. When adding a media reference, a new record is added to the 📜 References table. A previously created reference can be linked to new book entries
  3. Attachments can be added to each book record, but will not appear in CSV exports.
